[Bug 39948] New: DX8 game Soldat rendering issues (invisible player)
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39948 Bug ID: 39948 Summary: DX8 game Soldat rendering issues (invisible player) Product: Wine Version: 1.7.42 Hardware: x86 URL: http://soldat.pl/en/download/soldat169.zip OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: goodgod261(a)wp.pl Regression SHA1: 99619619011a171a7b7fe1399b577779a69ac359 Distribution: --- The player is invisible in Soldat since Wine 1.7.42 and the bug is still present in Wine 1.9.0. Bisect results: 99619619011a171a7b7fe1399b577779a69ac359 is the first bad commit commit 99619619011a171a7b7fe1399b577779a69ac359 Author: Michael Müller <michael(a)fds-team.de> Date: Thu Apr 16 21:27:22 2015 +0200 wbemprox: Allow connecting to localhost. :040000 040000 981e305f71740aacac132f1fb5b0ec3808104491 365e85776cc21cfa0aeb5863d93b3eadb291985c M dlls Reverting solves the issue. You might encounter another bug when trying to run Soldat with an old Wine version. If Alt+Tab doesn't help, try switching to TTY and back. This problem seems to be fixed in Wine 1.9.0. Mind you, the next version of Soldat (1.7.0) replaces the old DX8 renderer with OpenGL, which renders correctly. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39948 --- Comment #1 from Michael Müller <michael(a)fds-team.de> --- Hi, I can't reproduce the problem here. Do you use a license key for the game? It seems like wbemprox is only used to collect some system information, most probably to bind the license key / activation to the current hardware. Did you try reinstalling it into a fresh prefix? https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39948 --- Comment #2 from Bruno Jesus <00cpxxx(a)gmail.com> --- This regression test really looks suspicious since the result is not 3d related. Maybe it was stopped in the wrong step? Anyway, Please goodgod261 take a look and reply to comment 1. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
