[Bug 25426] New: King's Quest Collection Series (1997): KQ7, MGDX, and King's Questions crash winevdm.exe
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25426 Summary: King's Quest Collection Series (1997): KQ7, MGDX, and King's Questions crash winevdm.exe Product: Wine Version: 1.3.8 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: tristan_schmelcher(a)alumni.uwaterloo.ca Created an attachment (id=32360) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=32360) Backtrace of the King's Quest 7 crash After installing the game King's Quest Collection Series (the 1997 edition), attempting to start the games King's Quest 7 or Mixed-Up Mother Goose Deluxe or the bonus app King's Questions results in a winevdm.exe crash. The backtrace for all three games is very similar so I'm filing a single bug for the crashes. Note that you need a WINE version from commit 8fb6b02d946d751a9c26c20d94c71a83e1088349 or later in order for installation to succeed. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Is this still an issue in wine version 1.6-rc3 or higher or is this to be closed as abandoned ? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

King's Quest 7 behaves the same as before. Attaching new backtrace. Mixed-Up Mother Goose crashes similarly, but--unlike before--trying to display the backtrace makes WINE crash again. The terminal prints "44: cpu_i386.c:469: i386_stack_walk: Assertion `0' failed." when this happens. King's Questions now gives an error pop-up and quits instead of crashing, but I think the error pop-up is an unrelated issue. The pop-up says "Your current display driver is not supported by this game. ...". -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
