https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43170 Bug ID: 43170 Summary: Far Cry 4 fills dead air with colored bars Product: Wine Version: 2.10 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3dx11 Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: noonetinone(a)gmail.com Distribution: Other Created attachment 58434 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=58434 Far Cry 4 shot #1 Far Cry 4 looks good. Everything that belongs in the scene is rendered properly. Cars, animals, people. buildings, grass, and the trees look ok. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43170 --- Comment #2 from Adam Bolte <abolte(a)systemsaviour.com> --- Still an issue in Wine 3.2 with only secur32-Zero_Buffer_Length and crypt32-Certificate_Check patch sets from wine-staging applied (for Uplay). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43170 --- Comment #5 from Adam Bolte <abolte(a)systemsaviour.com> --- I can confirm this is still an issue for me, at least with amdgpu and Mesa. Honestly, the section of the map where I load my save game for testing (somewhere on a hill I think), the lines fill the sky so much that I can hardly see where I'm going. Far worse than the attached screenshot as the game is completely unplayable at this map location. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. The game is flawless for me. I'm using dxvk + nVidia's closed drivers. I played the entire game without issue. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43170 --- Comment #8 from Adam Bolte <abolte(a)systemsaviour.com> --- Confirming this works on AMD also when using dxvk binaries. I wasn't aware that was sufficient to close the bug report, but fair enough. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Confirming this works on AMD also when using dxvk binaries. I wasn't aware that was sufficient to close the bug report, but fair enough.
It isn't, DXVK is not a configuration we support. The bug was reported as fixed in comment 3 though, and now the original reporter has effectively abandoned the bug report. It's not entirely clear whether the issue you reported in comment 5 is the same issue, or a different but very similar issue, but if you can still reproduce that, and care about getting it fixed, we can reopen this bug report. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43170 --- Comment #10 from Adam Bolte <abolte(a)systemsaviour.com> --- Created attachment 62733 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=62733 Far Cry 4 screen shot, Wine 3.19, R9 Fury X, Mesa 18.2.3. Resized from 2560x1440 to 1920x1080 due to file size constraints This is a screenshot demonstrating that the bug still exists in Wine 3.19. In the area of the game I'm standing in, the game is completely unplayable. As stated above, there are no graphical issues I have encountered when running the game through DXVK. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43170 --- Comment #12 from Anthony Jagers <noonetinone(a)gmail.com> --- OK, I tried to start the game without dxvk. During the initial videos the game just crashes with nVidia's proprietary drivers. I did capture a log from some dx debug channels. The trace debug class gave me a log that was 700 megs uncompressed. So, I went with err+d3d & warn+d3d plus dxgi & d3d11. If you want it I'll upload it. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
