According to the other bugs(2789 and 2187) this problem has occured with the old code on certain cards / drivers. Improving the render target locking in wined3d is on my todo list. Either by using access traps simmilar to the dib code, or hashing the surface to detect unnecessary changes, or by using opengl pixel buffer objects.
