In current git (wine-1.3.8-66-gc82aa50), the videos don't play at all, but that's bug 25351. Does the attached patch help?
Presumably a separate issue, the intro video doesn't play at all, and I can't see any relevant messages.
Please file a new bug for that. The attached patch resolved the problem in the affected games for me. The AVI files encoded like that: Stream #0:0: Video: mpeg4 (Advanced Simple Profile) (XVID / 0x44495658), yuv420p, 480x272 [SAR 136:135 DAR 16:9], SAR 34816:34815 DAR 4096:2321, 30 tbr, 30 tbn, 30 tbc And they all upside-down in the game (exactly, not just rotate 180 degrees, but a mirrored image). I ported the patch to Wine 1.7.14 and resolved the issue. I hope developers can look into the exactly reason of the bug, and fixed it in the mainline. I don't have this issue in Wine 1.7.47 with the GOG version.
