[Bug 5526] RedAlert 2 runs very slowly after upgrade from 0.9.15 to 0.9.16

it is not possible to workaround the slowness by using a display with equal bpp (8 bpp being unsupported by OGL). thats wierd. It's a ddraw game. Why do you need OGL for that? It's pure 2D graphics. Plus, i thought the whole slowness in ddraw comes from the color conversions when running X with higher depths. It's odd that it is still that slow when running X with 8bit. Then there shouldn't be any color conversions anymore, in theory ;)
