download, then do:
$ rm -rf ~/.wine
$ winetricks -q dotnet20
$ wine APB_North_America_Installer.exe

and install. After install, it'll run itself, and crash. Terminal shows:
fixme:gdiplus:GdipGetFamilyName No support for handling of multiple languages!
fixme:shell:URL_ParseUrl failed to parse L"System.Xml"
fixme:gdiplus:GdipCreateHalftonePalette stub
fixme:gdiplus:GdipGetRegionScansCount not implemented

and the APB bug report shows:

wparam, IntPtr lparam)

sure enough, 'winetricks gdiplus' works around the crash.
