[Bug 27543] New: Alice: Madness Returns - no sound in game
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27543 Summary: Alice: Madness Returns - no sound in game Product: Wine Version: 1.3.22 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: austinenglish(a)gmail.com Sound works in the intro videos, as well as when cutscenes/recovering memories, but all other sounds in game are muted. The game uses x3daudio, which may be related. A few guides online suggest forcing stereo sound in windows sound instead of 5.1 audio, but winecfg lacks such an option ;-). Using hardwareaccerlation = emulation makes no difference. Since it's an unreal 3 game, I tried the workaround from bug 26965: [AudioOptions] UseStereoSound=0 but that seems to be dragonage2 specific, doesn't help here. Also tried: [XAudio2.XAudio2Device] MaxChannels=2 instead of 32, but still, no sound :(. Lastly, disabling mmdevapi makes no difference. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I have the same version of wine, but it crashes. Tried to install ms vc runtime and directx via winetricks, but it still crashes. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Would you kindly detail your installation/configuration for those of us who have not managed to get as far as you apparently have? http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27543 Alex <me(a)rakul.info> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |me(a)rakul.info --- Comment #10 from Alex <me(a)rakul.info> --- unfortunately same problem here. sound only appears in some cutscenes and mementos. no sound/music in game, menu, etc. i have wine 1.7.9 (gentoo x64). i have tested pulsaudio and alsa versions (even re-compiled wine to get rid of pulse). i tried overloading dsound through winecfg, applying random stuff in winetricks settings, adding UseStereoSound=1 and MaxChannels=2 to game ini-files. i suspect that this problem may be not really wine-related, because i found some complains in internet from windows uses, but they all end up "switching to stereo" using some magic tools. i'm sorry i don't provide any logs/configs - i just don't know what is really needed. any suggestions will be very helpfull. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
