[Bug 39641] New: Notepad++ not coming to front when opening files
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39641 Bug ID: 39641 Summary: Notepad++ not coming to front when opening files Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: sds(a)mailinator.com Distribution: --- 1) Whenever files are opened in Notepad++ (after application is already open), it opens the file but does not bring the application to the front. You have to manually click it's taskbar tab to bring it to the front. Hopefully you can find a way to make it so (so it's similar to Windows) 2) Also, I'm not sure how to reproduce this bug but when notepad++ is open for a while it becomes weird in the sense you can close a tab properly, can't copy text or do any regular functions (have to close and reopen to do so). And this doesn't happen all the time either. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

We haven't heard from the author of this bug since opening and the bug report is missing important info how to reproduce the bug (notepad++ version, wine version). Also none else is complaining about this. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I have not confirmed on windows, however, so take it with a grain of salt. To reproduce (assume npp=$(wine notepad++.exe $@)): $ npp foo1.txt # open a second terminal window, and let it keep focus $ npp foo2.txt notepad++ opens foo2.txt, but does not gain focus at this point. notepad++ opens foo2.txt, but does not gain focus at this point. I feel like I've seen that happen on Windows, but I don't have regular access to Windows so I can't verify.
wine-2.2
And I see the same in 7.3.2 / wine-2.2. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Could you put the patchset and mark it STAGED then, please? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I don't know which exact staged patchset has fixed the bug, just tested with winehq and wine-staging versions side by side. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
