The installer refuses to run after "winetricks mono26 win7" saying "Windows Live Essentials requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3." Note that it fails to run for other reasons in other Windows versions (either due to the OS being insufficient, or no platform update installed).
IIRC this is due to a missing registry key: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v3.0\Setup] "InstallSuccess"=dword:00000001 I'll send a patch for it , this is dupe of http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24875 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

One of the older beta installers still isn't satisfied, but it'll be another bug I guess. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 24875 *** -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

("wine.inf: Add another .NET v3.0 registry-key.") Neither resolution as dupe of bug 24875 or bug 25153 is correct. Well, let it be buried. I'm only updating the download link to stable snapshot via Internet Archive for documentation. https://web.archive.org/web/20120525120045/http://wl.dlservice.microsoft.com... Note, I've chosen the full "offline" WL 2011 installer instead of the web-installer. The web-installer is broken because the retrieval of payloads doesn't work anymore due to broken links. Planned software obsolescence.
