I couldn't figure out a cause.  Crashes while playing online in as little as a
minute, or longer than a half hour.

So it a crash in pulseaudio code:

Am I right? Try to disable pulse audio first. File a bug to Pulse developers
too.

Yes it does - off to PA developers. Also make sure you using latest Wine
version. There were some patches to workaround PA bugs.
