[Bug 20455] New: Warcraft III fails to finish movie correctly.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20455 Summary: Warcraft III fails to finish movie correctly. Product: Wine Version: 1.1.32 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: lukasz.wojnilowicz(a)gmail.com I'm using Fedora 11 32 bit and Wine 1.1.32 compiled on gcc (GCC) 4.4.1 20090725 (Red Hat 4.4.1-2) Steps to reproduce: 1) install Warcraft III 2) download quartz.dll and override it to native (otherwise movie will play only once) 3) start Warcraft III 4) navigate to movie from campaign of orcs and watch that movie 5) return to main menu properly or return to main menu with black screen and only sound or application crashes This is an regression because this didn't happen on Wine 1.1.31 I did regression test but that won't gave anything useful, because Wine randomly works good or bad. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Because no quartz in winetricks, i took one from WinXP. Choosed Single-> Campaign -> Orc Campaign -> the last option "Cinematic The Death of Hellscream". I did this 12x maybe 15x under wine-1.1.32 and War3 RoC v1.24b, but no such problem encounetred (no crash, no blackscreen). BTW: Wouldn't be better to report War3 crashing with wine's quartz and second play of this movie? It is 100% reproducible, isn't it? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Hi Lukasz, i gave it a try. Because no quartz in winetricks, i took one from WinXP.

I did this 12x maybe 15x under wine-1.1.32 and War3 RoC v1.24b, but no such problem encounetred (no crash, no blackscreen). You have to override quartz.dll to native also and not only copy it. I tried to play The prophecy and Thrall's vison and failed in both virtual screen and fullscreen. No problem at all in Wine-1.1.31
BTW: Wouldn't be better to report War3 crashing with wine's quartz and second play of this movie? It is 100% reproducible, isn't it?
This bug also exist without native quartz.dll and I think that would be separate bug. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

This is exactly what i did. Otherwise i could not repetitively play that movie.
I tried to play The prophecy and Thrall's vison and failed in both virtual screen and fullscreen. No problem at all in Wine-1.1.31
Unfortunately i own Czech original, which has most of the text translated, so i did not find neither "The prophecy" nor "Thrall's vison" cinematics :-( Also looked at The Frozen Throne without success :-( But anyway "Cinematic The Death of Hellscream" worked for me fine under 1.1.32 in windowed mode. Result: Works for me. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20455 --- Comment #7 from NSLW <lukasz.wojnilowicz(a)gmail.com> 2009-11-01 07:42:06 --- If I use wine-1.1.32-260-gf222a16 compiled by myself or if I use Wine 1.1.29 from Fedora 11 repository then I experience what I described in first comment. If I use Wine 1.1.32 from PlayOnLinux (which is compiled on Debian Etch) then there is no problem. Movies are always finished correctly. I think it's related to my distro. What should I do now? It isn't regression, it just don't work because Wine is compiled on Fedora. BTW. What is your distribution Wylda? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Hi Lukasz, i use Debian Lenny (stable) and then some packages from unstable and experimental branch (nothing from testing branch). These other branches are for KDE4 and latest libmpeg123-dev. I compile wine myself without any gcc optimization to avoid gcc's bugs, which should be reported elsewhere ;) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Sounds like a Fedora bug then. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
