[Bug 41973] New: Disgaea: page fault when starting game
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41973 Bug ID: 41973 Summary: Disgaea: page fault when starting game Product: Wine Version: 2.0-rc1 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: gardnermj(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 56375 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=56375 Console log Disgaea (installed via Steam) starts up and gets to the main menu, but then crashes with a page fault immediately upon selecting "Start". I do have Steam's in-game overlay turned off. Interestingly, the game instead crashes immediately upon startup when I try to run it with WINEDEBUG=+relay. I didn't include that relay log since it may be a separate issue, but let me know if I should do so. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Adding some of the modes into xrandr could solve this. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41973 --- Comment #2 from gardnermj(a)gmail.com --- Those resolutions are indeed not supported on my 1920x1200 display, and I do have nine other supported resolutions according to xrandr. Anyway the game is configured to run in a window, so I doubt that's the cause. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Your crash does not look like the same, maybe because you seem to be running the game from other partition (which often causes troubles): 0000007c (D) Z:\mnt\tsa\windows steam\steamapps\common\Disgaea PC\dis1_st.exe -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. I am not sure if wine's window mode supports any of those resolutions. Can you patch wine if I make a patch for that? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

If any of those modes don't match with your xrandr confing and what game asks you can modify the table.
I finally got around to trying out your patch (on current dev version). I no longer get the "No matching mode" messages, but I get a similar crash at the same point (log attached). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
