http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33884 --- Comment #6 from dino <dyvazar(a)numericable.fr> 2013-06-28 11:47:02 CDT --- Investigating a bit more: - some truetype fonts are broken with ubuntu (and maybe outside too) due to a fontconfig issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fontconfig/+bug/1195799 - but, even if fonts-opensymbol is installed by default on ubuntu, wine1.5/1.6 seems to search for fonts only inside .../windows/fonts/ and ignoring the fonts of the host system (seems a wine bug to me) - in fact, copying opens__.ttf (aka opensymbol) inside the wine's windows/fonts/ folder, then the symbols (arrows, smiley, ....) are well displayed.
