[Bug 17618] New: winecfg does not set drive type correctly for Local Hard Disk choice
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17618 Summary: winecfg does not set drive type correctly for Local Hard Disk choice Product: Wine Version: 1.1.16 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: lordhavoc(a)ghdigital.com The Drives panel in winecfg has a Type: dropdown which allows Auto-detect, Local Hard Disk, Network Share, Floppy Disk, or CD-ROM to be chosen for each drive. Each of these sets a registry value, except for Auto-detect and Local Hard Disk which simply remove the registry value for the respective drive. Local Hard Disk should set the registry value for the drive to "hd". -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17618 --- Comment #3 from Forest Hale <lordhavoc(a)ghdigital.com> 2009-07-02 00:01:32 --- Yes the winecfg "local hard drive" setting is now stored to the registry correctly, thank you. However this still functions as autodetect as mentioned in my related bug 17619 . I am not marking this resolved yet because "Local Hard Drive" is functioning as autodetect. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I am not marking this resolved yet because "Local Hard Drive" is functioning as autodetect.
Then you have two bugs open for the same issue (see bug 17619) and one should be marked as a duplicate of the other. The issue described in the bug description here has been fixed. If it does not fix the underlying problem, then it's not a problem with winecfg (indicated by the "programs" component selection) but probably in mountmgr. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Being set in registry and actually doing anything are two totally differ things. If you think this bug was just about adding registry entry - fine, close this and reopen another one. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17618 --- Comment #12 from Ben Klein <shacklein(a)gmail.com> 2009-12-11 07:05:27 --- I believe these are two separate problems. The one indicated here was that setting "Local hard disk" in winecfg did not cause the matching registry entry to be inserted, so the next time you opened winecfg it reverted to "Autodetect". This problem was fixed when my patch was committed in ca. 1.1.22. Bug 20974 seems to indicate that the API for reporting drive type back to applications is faulty. I didn't have any applications suitable for testing this behaviour. It appears that 20974 is not actually a regession as was implied from reopening this bug. They are clearly very closely related and I have no objection to the Duplicate status. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
