IT DID NOT WORK. - I clicked "quick bandage" entry in both standard and laternative shortcuts nad pressed button "B" on keyboard - it did not work and set "Pasue" value to key bind all the time. Okay. Then - I clicked button "Cancel" in the window .. and .. SUDDENLY GAME FREEZED. I had to force-quit it. Then - I wanted to launch game again, but I did not succeeded. I decided to rebbot. After reboot - Wine did not launch again. The tray bar had new bar "Starting stalker bla bla bla.." but nothing actually happened. Then I decided to do it in terminal way. Something went wrong with your system if even after reboot you can't start winecfg. Did you try with a fresh ~/.wine prefix?
No, have not tried rebuilding wine... What was command to do that? There is no need to rebuild wine, just move/rename ~/.wine and try again.
Sorry, but it did not help. I renamed~.wine ; rebooted ; launched winecfg ( it popued up configuration message ). Then I closed wionecfg. Opened nautilus and took a look @ ~.wine and found out that: - no WInetricks arer installed ( restored ) - no S.T.A.L.K.E.R is resotered either .. Obvoisly, when I click shortcut form my desktop, I got error message that System cannot CD to "/home/linards/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/THQ/S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl/bin" ... So winecfg runs just fine with a fresh ~/.wine.
Opened nautilus and took a look @ ~.wine and found out that:

That's expected, ~/.wine contains all the programs you have installed.
Do Have to reinstall game again and use old save files because wine has killed itself? :(

That answers your question. Run "wineserver -k" "pgrep wine" should report no tasks running. Restore the ~/.wine Run winecfg Does winecfg still fail to run? Before claiming developers are ignorant, stop being ignorant yourself: "Please do not PASTE logs and back traces (attach them instead)." This bug also needs to be attached to the relevant app in the AppDB. Wine can't restore itself, it's not a backup software.
