I will try that demo and see if it produces the same bug. for the record, the game window does show up for roughly a second before crashing. I have played Paradox games a lot in Windows. The first thing you must do before start playing is to rename avi folder to avi.old. That will prevent the bink player to start. It is related to DRI and i965.
