$ wine installers/Chessmaster10thEditionDemo_v102.exe 
fails with dialog
  1608: Unable to create InstallDriver instance, Return code: -2147221021

says this dialog is related to COM.
The warning
  warn:ole:RunningObjectTableImpl_GetObject Moniker unavailable - app may
require interprocess running object table
appears repeatedly before the error.

With native dcom98, the installer crashes, don't know if it gets further or not.
