After opening and closing the launcher a few times, the visuals returned to normal and functional. However, the game itself (not the launcher) crashes instantly when launched. And it happens in a completely clean prefix, so it happens with WineD3D (not just with DXVK). It also happens in both winewayland.drv and winex11.drv. The culprit commit is: https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/commit/18ce7964203b486c8236f2c16a370ae... from MR: https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/merge_requests/9415. Reverting that commit solves both issues. The MR comments point out other programs affected by this commit. There is even an open bug report: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58971.
