When I compile from source I get the mentioned error though... Tried a regression test but I somehow messed up, will retry tomorrow. AFAIK the error is introduced between 4.1 and 4.2. Hi Fabian, that commit doesn`t revert cleanly for me in current git. So I reverted it manually (see below). Anyway, the installer finishes fine for me with reverted patch. It looks like there are two processes each of which call into do_msidbCustomActionTypeDll(), which in turn calls RpcServerUseProtseqEpW() with the same endpoint name "msi". The msiexec launched by each process both try to connect to the same named pipe. I suspect we want to append a thread id onto the endpoint name.
