[Bug 12725] New: Drakan order of the flame fails to start because the CD check fails
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12725 Summary: Drakan order of the flame fails to start because the CD check fails Product: Wine Version: 0.9.60 Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: kernel32 AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: felix(a)compsoc.nuigalway.ie Created an attachment (id=12378) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=12378) +tid,+seh,+loaddll,+ntoskrnl,+relay As far as I can tell "Drakan: Order of the Flame" just uses a CD check. Steps to reproduce: 1. Install Drakan 2. Start the game from either the command line or via the Autorun.exe on the CD 3. Attempt to start a new game from the menu Expected Results: Game should proceed to the the introduction and onto the first level. Actual Results: Message pops up about inserting the Drakan CD. Workarounds: Install patch 445 which removes the cd check. While the workaround does work, wine should be able to handle a standard CD check. I will look further into seeing if it is in fact some copy protection scheme that I haven't managed to detect. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Many game developers eventually realize it's more of a pain than it's worth. There's a clear workaround, so lowering severity. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
