I've tried without d3dx9_28.dll, with d3dx9_36.dll and with d3dx9_28.dll but
only with d3dx9_28.dll did it not crash.

There are five error messages and five empty notepads that open up as well as
the crash dialog.
[ERROR] 'Shader.txt' could not be found

Still present in wine-1.3.8-113-g9d9ce29 and it does come with d3dx9_28.dll so
only purists would notice.

Still present in wine-1.3.21.

with d3dx9_36

d3dx9_36.dll.D3DXLoadMeshHierarchyFromXA that is bug #24642

with d3dx9_28 it works

Downlaod url is dead, but this should be fixed by
http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commitdiff/66693a6e80aa98cb82ca187f0a1...

(though really, it's a dupe of bug 24642).
