After inserting a search query in Flash Help and pressing the SEARCH button, help searches for the query a shows avaible results, but after clicking on the result the help and Flash freezes and does not show the content of the selected result. In terminal there is some sort of loop. I think the possible reason is WineGecko cinflicting with the Flash MShtmlhelp engine. Log in attachement. are you saying it worked before wine 0.9.37, or 0.9.37 was the earliest version you tested?
OK I confess, I can not remember the exact version but around the version 0.9.37 of Wine it was possible to install Flash 8 directly with wine without any additional tweaking (like copying files from Windows installation)- so before Wine version 0.9.37 a did not try the help, becuase Flash was not installable. I can confirm that about Wine 0.9.38 - 0.9.39 I begun testing Flash 8 on my project work in Linux.
