Well, that's the behavior I see on Windows. Setting either browser to be the default doesn't work for me. So I get "Internet Explorer is not currently your default browser. Would you like to make it your default browser?" or "Firefox is not currently set as your default browser Would you like to make it your default browser?" pop up boxes depending on which browser I'm starting up for the first time. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes should exist and be merged into HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT since NT, with prior to the user classes(says msdn). see also the function RegOpenUserClassesRoot, it should be tested, implemented and used by the other regfunctions. I'll write tests and start implementing the function when i get time to. While I tried to run the tests in windows step by step, I found something that may be confusing. advapi32/tests/registry.c:2173 delete_key( hkey ); This did not delete the key without KEY_ENUMERATE_SUB_KEYS access mask. But if it did deleted the key, the tests following will not work as expected. advapi32/tests/registry.c:2256 /* check that the value is overwritten in hklm and user's classes */ But the following codes checks hkcr instead of hklm. Would you mind if I'll have some ideas to improve these and extends some new tests? did you had a look at how delete_key works? i'm not sure if i understand you correctly.
