[Bug 12608] New: In World of Warcraft there are no roads, and squares of landscape are blank as of WoW 2.4
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12608 Summary: In World of Warcraft there are no roads, and squares of landscape are blank as of WoW 2.4 Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: opengl AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: smitty_the_smith(a)yahoo.com You can get the client at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/download_wow.html When playing world of warcraft there are squares of "blank" land along the roads and in random locations. By blank I mean barren dirt. These squares eliminate almost all roads and also appear on mountains, grass, sand. It happens mostly outdoors. The land is shaped correctly but lacks the expected texture map. The error is entirely graphical and doesn't prevent gameplay, it is however ugly. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

(it still exists after install 0.9.59) Issue does not exist on ubuntu hardy amd64 w/ wine version 0.9.59 & nvidia 8800 GTS w/ 169.12 driver Anyhow, appears to be a bug with specific card/driver/wow versions. The standard gutsy driver also had the same problem 100.14.19 so I attempted both a wine upgrade and driver upgrade to fix. The other system that doesn't have the issue only has a different card in it, so this is sort of an odd problem. It started occurring with the latest wow patch. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I haven't heard of more issues as thousands of people are running WoW on Wine. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12608 --- Comment #8 from Rebecca Swaringen <november1220(a)grandecom.net> 2008-05-04 00:28:49 --- Compiz/etc. are disabled and the effects are still present. Also this started occurring with patch 2.4 of world of warcraft, so I don't think it's "just" a driver bug, but as this problem doesn't exist on an 8800 GTS (with an install of wow copied from this machine), I'm sure the driver is part of it. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
