[Bug 14164] New: Command and Conquer flashing screen and no full-screen video
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14164 Summary: Command and Conquer flashing screen and no full-screen video Product: Wine Version: 1.0.0 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: weed_richard(a)hotmail.com Command and Conquer (the original recently released as a freebie), has major graphics issues. Screen flashes while you move the mouse around and full-screen video in cut scenes does not play (you can hear the audio). This used to work fine...the only setting I had to put in the configuration for the EXE was for the OS (set to 'Windows 95'). That still is necessary or it hangs/crashes on startup. I tried setting the virtual desktop option to get it to run in a window, but it did not solve the problem. I am running Fedora 8 (kernel 2.6.25.6-27.fc8) and version 173.14.09 of the nVidia 64-bit video driver. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Also, if it "used to work fine", then consider doing http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting, it may speed up things. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14164 --- Comment #5 from Michal Seliga <michal.seliga(a)visicom.sk> 2008-07-15 14:05:19 --- i removed old .wine and let wine create new one to make sure eveyrhting is in default values. then i used wineconfig to enable sound, glsl and make virtual desktop 1024x768 it didn't helped with any of applications i mentioned (Spore and Brány Skeldalu) and they still behave the same way as they did. so it happens with default settings for sure -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14164 --- Comment #6 from Alexander Dorofeyev <alexd4(a)inbox.lv> 2008-09-07 09:44:03 --- AFAIK spore is a new 3d game, not likely to be related to C&C which is old 2D ddraw game. Between 1.0 and 1.1.4, several bugs have been fixed that potentially could affect C&C in various modes (opengl and non-opengl). So this really needs a retest with new (1.1.4 or git) Wine and clarification of important details. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14164 --- Comment #7 from Xavier Vachon <xvachon(a)gmail.com> 2008-12-15 21:08:57 --- Created an attachment (id=17979) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=17979) Log +seh I use the version included in The First Decade patched to version 1.03 Revision 2 (http://www.commandandpatch.webs.com/), and my only special setting is Offscreenrenderingmode=fbo (for CC Generals) I use the game in a window, hence I cannot confirm if the full-screen video issue is solved. The screen flashes and lags mostly when I open menus and watch cutscenes, hence like this bug : http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6181 . I believe however that this is due to the fact that I have a multicore processor; according to this (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4487). I have attached nonetheless a +seh output, in case if it helps. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
