[Bug 13438] New: Eudora 7.1.0.9 several bugs related to Wine
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13438 Summary: Eudora 7.1.0.9 several bugs related to Wine Product: WineHQ Bugzilla Version: unspecified Platform: PC URL: http://www.eudora.com/ OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: bugzilla-unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: winebugz(a)wendy.org CC: dank(a)kegel.com +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #13429 +++ Printing resulted and still results in garbled printouts: approximately the first half of the first page is like it should be, the rest (of the page, and the whole of next pages) is garbled, words printedover eachother. I have to cut and paste the contents into a word processor (like Open Office) to be able to print an email. This problem existed in Wine 0.8.x, 0.9.x and 1.0 RC1&2 versions. Under Windows XP (SP1 and SP2) it was possible to click print an email message. In Ubuntu (7.04, 7.10 and 8.04) under Wine (0.8.x, 0.9.x and 1.0 RC1/2) printing is possible, but after the first half of the first page, so including any following page, it looks like kerning, spacing, centering and use of fonts get garbled: words can be recognized on the printout, lines are still lines, but within a line, the text is unreadable, words are printed over eachother, on the wrong place in a line, and probable words from a next line are printed over previous lines too. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13438 --- Comment #1 from Robert Millan <rmh(a)aybabtu.com> 2008-05-26 03:18:21 --- The beta builds (8.x) of Eudora are free software. If this bug can be reproduced with them, source code availability will probably make it much easier to fix in wine. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13438 --- Comment #2 from Wendy <winebugz(a)wendy.org> 2008-05-26 03:28:56 --- @Robert Millan: Eudora 8 is in no way related to Eudora 7.1.0.9. It is an adaptation to Thunderbird. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I tried with a CUPS-PDF printer, Ctrl+N to compose a new message, filled the message body with a lot of text (when pasting from Chrome I had to use "Paste Special..."), then Ctrl+P to print the message, and the resulting PDF looks fine. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13438 Wendy <winebugz(a)wendy.org> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED --- Comment #8 from Wendy <winebugz(a)wendy.org> 2010-06-16 05:07:48 --- Even after a re-install of Linux Ubuntu 9.04 and Eudora 7.1.0.9 and two different printers, the problem existed. This week, I installed Ubuntu 10.04 (clean install, not as an upgrade, so I formatted the harddisk and installed all software from scratch) and Eudora 7.1.0.9. Version of Wine: 1.1.42. The problem is solved, well, at least for me. I can print without problems from Eudora, and the prints even look good. Thanks for your attention. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
