https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56570 Bug ID: 56570 Summary: wine crashes when display goes off(power saving) - wayland Product: Wine-staging Version: 9.6 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: bruce_loco(a)yahoo.com CC: leslie_alistair(a)hotmail.com, z.figura12(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 76322 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=76322 wine logs before and after display goes off I load up simplemind pro(windows app): wine SimpleMindPro App works fine - first part of the log. I stop working, leave the computer untouched for 5 minutes. The screen goes off - display is turned off, I move the mouse, log back in and wine crashed - 2nd part of the log. Does not happen if I put the computer to sleep. My system is Garuda Linux - KDE plasma 6.0.3 wayland Kernel 6.8.5-zen1-zen(64Bit) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56570 --- Comment #1 from Rafał Mużyło <galtgendo(a)o2.pl> --- Given the error, I'm assuming you're still using x11 wine driver (I'm not sure if wayland one is already in a working condition). So, would you add 'x11drv' channel to the log ? (also, 'xset dpms force off' can be used to trigger the blankout immediately in xorg, not sure how to trigger that in wayland, but there likely *is* a simple way) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. I don't think it's appropriate to mark a bug NEEDINFO when triaging if it's staging specific. Is this the application? Does the free edition have the same problem? https://simplemind.eu/download/free-edition/ -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56570 --- Comment #5 from Bruce Loco <bruce_loco(a)yahoo.com> --- Hi Guys With X11 I tried 2 applications, rufus(usb flashing) portable, and some installer for some graphics tablet - these worked fine - so as far as bug goes, please close this. I am testing wayland. Without the regedit fix to set the wayland driver, "DISPLAY=" was failing. I imported this regkey: "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Drivers] "Graphics"="x11,wayland"" It now seems to work, only downside is that the console opens by default and the Icon is the "W" for wayland I think it can be closed, it can be the application in together with display being turned off. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
