[Bug 13400] New: HMM IV game support: fullscreen is actually not so full and graphic is slow.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13400 Summary: HMM IV game support: fullscreen is actually not so full and graphic is slow. Product: Wine Version: 1.0-rc2 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: t3st3r(a)mail.ru While HMM IV windows-based game starts and generally works, I got 2 issues here: My config: Kubuntu 8.04 x64, 5Gb RAM, Acer AL 1722 1280x1024 LCD attached to ATI x1300 PCI-E card.Proprietary ATI driver used to enable 3D and acseleration (default version installed by Restricted Drivers Manager). The issues are following: 1) Game has options to specify screen resolution to use and whether to use full screen or not.The issue is that when I'm selecting 1280x1024 and full screen to get full screen (which is fastest and most comfortable), HMM IV window getting sized to fit full screen BUT menu bar still appears on the top of window, therefore overall window area is smaller than 1280x1024 and gameplay is affected (bottom part of screen equal to menu in size is not displayed). In Windows this corresponds to 1280x1024 without fullscreen setting. With fullscreen setting active window menu is hidden and game window takes whole screen.Actually I can't make HMM IV to work in true full-screen mode.Attempts to toggle full screen are not successful.Window displays menu bar even when fullscreen setting active. However it should be hidden and actually this menu bar only appears when game runs in windowed mode.Probably something not handled greatly. 2) Also, game graphic and animation is quite slow.Maybe because this not-so-full screen rather than fast and truly full screen DirectX accelerated "window" (I'd noticed that full screen is a way faster than windowed mode). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

What window manager are you using? Ringt now I'm using KDE's own manager, it's named KWin IIRC.Compiz is running but I did not replaced window manager so far.I may also give it a try with Emerald if you wish but it looks like this will not change anything.Asked friend to test with Gnome and there is same issue - in full screen there is window menu not hidden as well (menu of "windows" window, not window manager's stuff).
I suspect that to reproduce you can just launch HMM4 and try full-screen mode.If you still haven't got idea, compare full screen mode with original Windows then. There will be a real full screen without window menu bar when full-screen mode chosen.Probably there is some troubles in handling specific actions sequence or something like this so menu bar is not hidden in Wine but in windows it is. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
