I installed wine1.3 from http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-wine/ppa/ubuntu/pool/main/w/wine1.3/wine1.3_... (updated on Nov 2nd), and I got the same error.
Is the commit 3e86d43030e36ce85b330620be3cca638542906a (the one fixing the bug) supposed to be there? (If there's a way to find this out, please let me know)

It will be included in the next development snapshot 1.3.7 which is scheduled for the 12th November.
