The broken UI elements are clearly visible throughout the program, mostly on button edges and colouration. The following line spams up the console: fixme:xrender:X11DRV_AlphaBlend Unable to AlphaBlend without Xrender. Also Steam uses about half the CPU when idle with ClientSideWithRender set (6-7% compared to 14-16%). This is with Wine 1.1.31. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I have set the ClientSideWithRender key in the registry and started Steam.
Try the current version. I had invisible text in Full Tilt Poker for many versions (including 1.1.31) which is now fixed in 1.1.35. I have the WineTricks font packages installed, but that didn't help me in the past. Now all popup windows, chat text, and menu text appears (and appears correctly). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

But as bad side, ClientSideWithRender = N stop rendering the icon from iconified aplications (just show a black square) at notification area. I suspect that there is a particular font rendering problem when running windows QT4 based applications (like last.fm), but I can't really confirm that. Before setting ClientSideWithRender I tested removing all fonts from wine fonts directory, and also tried removing font references from registry, but both didn't helped. My Wine version is the wine-1.1.37 from Ubuntu karmic koala repository. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13202 --- Comment #8 from Henrique Sant'Anna <tetite(a)gmail.com> 2010-01-28 09:53:47 ---
I suspect that there is a particular font rendering problem when running windows QT4 based applications (like last.fm), but I can't really confirm that.
Today I tested the windows version from Psi (http://psi-im.org/). It is a QT based IM software, but even with ClientSideWithRender = Y the font rendering seems perfect. I checked the Last.FM install directory for DLLs other than QT ones, and there I found a subdirectory called "Microsoft.VC80.CRT", where inside there is two MS dlls: msvcp80.dll and msvcr80.dll. If I rename Microsoft.VC80.CRT to Microsoft.VC80.CRT.bak, LastFM.exe will not startup anymore. If that matters... on a default config test, there is one backtrace line that says: fixme:font:ExtTextOutW flags ETO_NUMERICSLOCAL | ETO_NUMERICSLATIN | ETO_PDY unimplemented -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
