I have an intel GMA 3100 on Arch Linux. This has improved the framerate in the intro film and now allows me to see a preview of the world when setting its type (pangea etc). On the other hand the game now crashes when trying to show a portrait of a leader and still when the game tries to load. I have crashes that log me out of my system. They can happen at various points in running the game but virtually always before completely loading a game. Ive been lead to believe that this has something to do with the graphics acceleration with this chipset in linux. This can be resolved by setting the debug resolution in My\ Games/Sid\ Meier\'s\ Civilization\ 4/CivilizationIV.ini On the other hand the people in the portraits are now invisible or black and the game is unplayable as almost all the terrain is white. Running ubuntu 10.10 and wine 1.3.11. It seems to crash at a couple points in the game, sometimes it get further but it never actually runs. Usually it crashes while setting up map or just after.
