The above patch "Hack to fix CSS (710 bytes, patch) 2007-06-23 22:43 CDT, Luke
Bratch" is still working for CS:S.

The HUD modification alone isn't enough, I had to patch gdi32.dll

I suppose a lot of crashes reported here aren't linked to this bug, especially
card-related ones and all of crashes not fixed by the above patch...
