If this is still a problem for you with Wine 1.9.6 you could try to update Mesa and, if that doesn't help, attach a +tid,+d3d9,+d3d,+d3d_shader,+d3d_surface,+d3d_texture trace. Devil May Cry 3 has the same issue in wine-1.9.6 for me. This is still an issue on wine-1.9.12.
Is the terminal output the same? Sorry thats what shipped with slackware 14.2. And it should be mesa-11.2.2.
