Download from http://www.oup.co.uk/academic/cdromsupport/oed2v1/ It still runs, but for some reason which I can't understand, it's not displaying some special characters anymore, specially greek characters and the phonetic characters. I'm using the stable version (wine-1.0.1-174-gc4039bd), but the problem is even worse with the latest development versions. The most strange to me is that it used to show theses characters perfectly well, and now it stop displaying them. I couldn't find anything similar here at bugzilla. Does anyone know how I could try to solve this? Thank you very much! Please upgrade your Wine to wine-1.1.43 and retest. The wine-1.0.1 is 1.5 years old and is not being updated.

The exact version always makes it nice and clear. It's no use being rude at people. Sorry, I'm human. My mistake. Juan: I'm really sorry for the above. I can only thank you for all your help. Yes, I could do another regression test, if necessary. But the strangest thing to me is: those fonts were fine with the stable version, until the moment when I did that regression test. I might have done something wrong here (I actually did, I remember running 'make install', which I shouldn't). If you think that could be the reason for the problem, what could I do to get it fixed? I've already removed and reinstalled wine 1.0.1, but this new problem persists and I can't get rid of it. I'm doing something strange that could also be a cause for the problem. I'm running two versions: the one I compiled for the Houaiss Dictionary, and the stable (1.0.1), because I couldn't install the OED in the compiled one, and it runs fine with the stable one. Do you think this might be causing the problem? Besides the bad fonts, I cannot close the software the usual way. When you try to close it, it hangs on and on and you always have to kill the process. This also didn't use to happen before I did that regression test. So... It seems I corrupted my regular wine installation when I ran 'make install' while doing the regression test. But I don't know how to fix this. When I remove wine and reinstall it, I think I'm not really getting a really fresh and clean wine, and the problem persists... Please, I know I might be doing something silly, but, could you give me a hand with it? Thank you very much for your time. Hi Juan... I'm really sorry about what I did. I shoudn't have taken it personally really. I know you guys are overloaded with the same kind of questions all the time and that sometimes people are not clear about the basic things like which version they are using. But I just think there are many possible ways you can say things when you disagree about something or when you're not satisfied with something, and I think was not getting the best of them. Ok, here I am again. Now, I'm running OED with wine 1.2-rc3. It's running fine, the fonts look very good, much better than before. However, the problem with special characters (greek and phonetic alphabet) persists. Also, when you try to close the software, it gets stuck and crashes, and you have to terminate it. Same old stuff. How could I help you guys solve this thing? Thank you very much in advance.
