If so, you should try any of the following winetricks: 1. 'winetricks corefonts' (Arial font family is needed) 2. 'winetricks gdiplus' Either of them makes QuickTime Player happy and it starts fine here. Bug #30507 describes a similar problem with another application. Works fine in wine-1.5.13-63-gcaf6fe0. No workarounds.
Maybe you have msttcorefonts installed on your system, that's why you can't see it crashing?
