I'm having almost the same bug. 
Command and Conquer Zero Hour v1.04

The games loads to the splash screen but after it disappears nothing more
happens.
The process is still running in the background however.

OS: Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit
Wine version: wine-1.1.23
