I upgraded to 1.2rc1 and I still don't see the text. Attached Wine output. On a side note, every TH## besides TH07 runs really slow (~20fps). Hey, what version are you using? I am using the OpenSuse build found on AUR(Arch User Repository and I am running Arch Linux. Which version of wine are you using, distro and graphics card. I am using an Nvidia Geforce 6150 LE and text has worked on Embodiment of Scarlet Devil and phantasmagoria of flower view. I will add an image as a proof.

Wine 1.2-rc1 by wine-9999 (git code) ebuild on Gentoo. I have a R300 (Radeon 9550) graphics card and I'm using xf86-video-ati drivers, mesa-7.8.1. Hm, what your Wine outputs? On TH06 for example.
