What installer are you trying to use? I think there are at least 3 different installers.
Steam version, then some english and russian. Could be even more.

Checking my RAM usage does indeed confirm this. It seems that the Steam English version detects RAM usage correctly, and as far as I have tested, acts like the Windows version.
