When starting, the game complains about the following unimplemented function in Wine's d3dx9_36.dll: D3DXFillTexture. A native d3dx9_36.dll (or winetricks d3dx9) makes the game happy and it works flawlessly. For testing: the game also needs native msxml3 libraries to start correctly (that's bug #23656). How/when? I haven't encountered it.
The game installs directX by default.
