[Bug 10622] New: Visual C++ 5 IDE hangs on exit

It starts fine and seems to work, but hangs on exit. One sees err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7efec644 "loader.c: loader_section" wait timed out in thread 0017, blocked by 0015, retrying (60 sec) err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7ea3b720 "compobj.c: csRegisteredClassList" wait timed out in thread 0009, blocked by 0015, retrying (60 sec) and then it tries to start the debugger but can't, since there is no process anymore. I'll attach the last 100K lines of a +ole,+module,+relay log. Still a bug in current git (wine-1.3.0-266-g1a1ffe6) --- quote --- "Visual C++ 5" != "VC++ 2005" Your download URL points to the VC++ 2005 Express Edition which works fine with known workarounds (see appdb). It's highly unlikely that such old stuff like "Visual Studio 97" can be downloaded from public servers. Provide a download location for the real "old" thing (might be even a private server) or upload a full relay log. The relay log attached here is too short.
