The program relies heavily on native versions of riched20.dll and oleaut32.dll, but fails regardless. Otherwise I'm not sure of the problem. It costs about $15 or so as a download, but isn't much use to anyone not playing the game. The developer is active on their forum (forums.sjgames.com) and is actively helping the Linux users on the forum by providing tech support and trying to make it more compatible within his ability to do so.
