I got into the whole Ubuntu thing because it was supposed to be easier to USE. However, I'm not a geek or techie, just a guy who uses my machines for DOING things like photo editing, writing, etc. My problem lies in ArcSoft's PhotoStudio 5.5. I am informed that there is a serious error and that it needs to close. Oh, another problem is that I got your app to let me install my Canoscan 4400F scanner but I can't find where it went. However, it all comes down to the simple fact that, regardless of its annoyances and massive shortcomings, Windows just plain works. No high-tech knowledge or tinkering is required. it just damn works. It wants to activate, but clicking 'next' fails. Terminal output looks like ieframe/mshtml/jscript, so tried native ie7, which gives an extra blank popup on start to dismiss. After that, clicking next gives a new popup. Closed the window, started it up again, and the 'next' dialog was gone, now on to 'Free Trial', purchase, etc. screen.
