Is it a theme by any chance? http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34181 --- Comment #2 from marc <marcdunord(a)gmail.com> 2013-08-01 12:24:37 CDT --- a) it's excel 2003 b) in win XP, to choose system-wide color scheme with dark background and bright characters one needs to: Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Display, and then click the Appearance tab. In the Scheme box, click the color "black contrast". this makes excel 2003 run with inverted colors... -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Sounds invalid to me, I'll let someone else decide what to do with this. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Well that sounds like something the window manager should control, not Wine.
Sounds invalid to me, I'll let someone else decide what to do with this.
Well, that would be UPSTREAM, not INVALID. I think it's a valid request, but I don't think anyone will be working on it (anytime soon, at least). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

The attached screenshot is of Excel running in Wine with a theme I found called "In the Dark." -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34181 --- Comment #8 from marc <marcdunord(a)gmail.com> --- i installed "in the dark" as advised by rosanne and it works great. it took some time figuring out the steps though: i) downloaded theme (file: InTheDark.msstyles) from website indicated by rosanne ( http://customize.org/xpthemes/60033 ). ii) copied it to /home/username/.wine/dosdevices/c:/windows/Resources/Themes/ iii) went to "wine" -> "configure wine" -> "desktop integration" -> clicked "install theme" to browsefor+click on the InTheDark.msstyles file. iv) chose InTheDark as theme v) clicked "Apply" and "OK" and done. NB. it would be nice if wine developers included a default dark theme right away, since it's a bit stressful to find and choose one (multiplied by 100,000+ wine users!). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
