I cannot reproduce the crash. Notepad++ has fixed several crashes in their code since 6.7 (some relating to file IO). Comment 0 says that the crash requires computer restart, which indicates the problem may not be in Wine. Also the prefix was shared with something else:
00000014 BackupStack.exe

Is this still an issue in Wine 1.9.24 or later?
