[Bug 37263] New: World Of Warcraft: stuck keys
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37263 Bug ID: 37263 Summary: World Of Warcraft: stuck keys Product: Wine Version: 1.7.25 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: brian(a)infinityplusb.com I'm running WoW 5.4.8. At random intervals keys appear "stuck", even though they are not physically stuck. I can really only notice the ones where the "stuck key" is for moving (e,d,s,f) cause the character keeps strafing or running. Sometimes repressing these keys causes the key to unstick, but that's maybe a 20-25% success rate. Maybe less. I'm new to this bug-filing thing so I'll try replicate the issue. I'm not sure this issue is specific to Warcraft, but it's the only game I play. There are other google tracks related to this, but they seem quite old (pre-2008). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37263 --- Comment #1 from Rosanne DiMesio <dimesio(a)earthlink.net> --- Symptoms sound like bug 30981. Does turning off keyboard repeat fix it? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Symptoms sound like bug 30981. Does turning off keyboard repeat fix it?
Nope. I just changed that to try it, and still get the issue. I have also started a new character and notice I get the issue even when soloing in low-level unpopulated areas. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37263 --- Comment #3 from SirMoo <rawr(a)sirmoo.com> --- Getting this generally in raid enviroments but it's pretty inconsistant. WASD seems to be the only thing that is being sent, however, when I use the number keys above the WASD it seems to trigger the WASD which are my movement keys. When this starts to happen if I attemp to type it seems to want to put a W instead of the letter I type multiple times (generally 3 W's before it will let me type another key). I've also had moments where caps lock kept switching on and off as I typed. Pressing the movement keys (WASD) in the direction I'm forced to move sometimes helps for that partical instance but it continues. Ubuntu 14.04 (if it's of any use). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I have found for the most part I can play for an extended period, say 30 minutes or so, but after some time the keys do tend to stick, in particular the movement keys (WASD). I'm running WoW 6.0.3, wine 1.7.19 on Xubuntu 14.04 through PlayOnLinux. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Using to xev to check a running wine instance will from time to time show that the problem is still there, but it is not noticable in the running program unless it is the Esc key that gets stuck. The biggest problem is that sometimes you loose keyboard alltogether. Personally I started to notice having this problem when Blizzard released version 6.0.2. I have never had this kind of trouble before that. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
