The particular error the original parent referred to no longer exists (loader
builds with --enable-win64).

'Make depend' and 'make' also work (as long as you don't have libicu36-dev
installed).  I see that the 'make install' will choke (not having Dmitry's
hacks), now that I test it:

I haven't tried hacking around that check/#error.

So, I guess the original poster's bug title is still actually true... even if
the reasons have completely changed.
