I tried with the full version. With Wine 0.9.43 it gave an error relating to Dinput; i tried the native DirectX9 dinput.dll & dinput8.dll's for it, but it did not help. Sorry, i can not download the demo for which i provided the link, my network is not fast enough, but this is most probably a game engine related crash, so it should also produce this.
