[Bug 23997] New: Gridrunner Revolution: doesn't render certain objects in-game
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23997 Summary: Gridrunner Revolution: doesn't render certain objects in-game Product: Wine Version: 1.3.0 Platform: x86 URL: http://lsshop.s3.amazonaws.com/GRRevPCSetup118.exe OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: gyebro69(a)gmail.com Created an attachment (id=30138) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=30138) terminal output Gridrunner Revolution is a remake of a classic 'bottom-up' shooter, published by Llamasoft. The game doesn't show certain objects during gameplay: your ship is missing, only some fainted outlines of the ship can be seen. The incoming... er.. sheep (?) are also not rendered. You can check the issue with the demo, too. The following components are needed if you want to try the game: dx9 libs and xact. Alsa must be set to 'Emulation' to get sounds. The line fixme:d3d9:Direct3DShaderValidatorCreate9 stub makes me wonder if you have all the d3d9x libraries you need. How did you install the dx9 libs? Was it with winetricks d3dx9 ?
A native d3dx9_36.dll is sufficient, but I tried with 'winetricks d3dx9', too, of course. In the full version of the game there is an option to switch between shader model 2.0 and 3.0. Neither of them has any effect on the issue. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I didn't need to install any native libraries to play the game and demonstrate the problem - not sure why you needed xact. The problem persists even with "winetricks d3dx9". -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23997 --- Comment #5 from GyB <gyebro69(a)gmail.com> 2010-08-14 09:51:55 --- The demo will automatically install the xact and the needed d3dx9 libraries for you. Only if you want to start with a clean prefix, without re-installing the game, you need to install the mentioned dlls through winetricks. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
