It didnt seem to make a difference for me. Dont think its a duplicate. However Gothic 1 seems to start for me (also before the patch) and I can play the game, but only when I disable sound in gothic.ini. Also (with disabled sound) when I go to the "sound" settings menu it crashes and displays the same message: err:msvcrt:symbol_demangle Unknown operator: _R all over again. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I would like to add that I think this problem is audio-related. When using the DLL overrides as described in: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=3000 that is the following dlls: dmband.dll, dmime.dll, dmloader.dll, dmstyle.dll, dmsynth.dll, dmusic.dll and dmcompos.dll Everything seems to work fine. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Is this still an issue in 1.0-rc3 or newer wine?
Hi, I'll try to test this today or tomorrow. I don't have linux installed at the moment due to issues with my PC, however I'll try to find a way to test this. bob -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

When setting musicEnabled=0 in system/gothic.ini it seems to work really well (silver/gold rank). I tested with latest git checkout (wine 1.0rc4). I can't reproduce this error in latest git pull (>1.1.10), however the game still crashes for me when I try to start it without any native DLLs. I'll post a detailed log of this soon under a different bug report. You can close this bug report as far as I'm concerned, Kind regards, bob -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

When I try to start Gothic I in Wine 0.9.50 it crashes and the following message is shown in the console many hundred times:
err:msvcrt:symbol_demangle Unknown operator: _R
There are a few of these messages in between:
err:msvcrt:demangle_datatype Unknown type Y
I use a Nvidia Geforce 7800 GS with the proprietary nvidia driver on Kubuntu 7.10 x86.
Please let me know if you need some other data.
I can confirm this Bug in Gothic 2, in all versions other than wine-0.9.38 it crashes after playing about 8 minutes printing exactly this error message. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

The errors with
err:msvcrt:symbol_demangle Unknown operator: _R
are gone for me, but I do still get:
err:msvcrt:demangle_datatype Unknown type a err:msvcrt:demangle_datatype Unknown type a
The reason why it crashes is related to DirectMusic though. When setting musicEnabled=0 in system/gothic.ini it seems to work really well (silver/gold rank).
I tested with latest git checkout (wine 1.0rc4).
